Before coming on board with Jake at Team Educate, I had already been with another agency but unfortunately the experience was not very positive. I was therefore a little apprehensive about joining another one, but did not need to worry. Right from the very start, Jake was extremely friendly and completely understanding as to what I was wanting to do. His approachable manner allowed me to feel very comfortable and trusting of him. Team Educate have looked after me and have offered me job security in a very unusual time where I was in a vulnerable position employment wise due to the coronavirus pandemic. I had just completed teacher training a month prior to the third national lockdown and was ready to jump into classrooms after Christmas as the classroom teacher and to start a career in teaching, but the landscape changed so drastically and schools were closed. I hadn't signed up with -Team Educate and by this point I was thinking that I would have to work at Deliveroo to earn until supply teaching became a viable option once more. Jake, the director of Team Educate, came up with a plan to ensure that this didn't happen. He seeked me out, which shows the company’s commitment to developing caring and nurturing working relationships to both new and older clients and got me secure work within Nurseries for a month allowing me to make a stable income during the third lockdown, this enabled me to feel safe and secure during an unpredictable time, as well as gaining relevant industry experience, working in early years.

After this, he got me into schools working as a 1-1 TA from February-July, with the objective to put me into a more secure employment when supply teaching positions, become more stable once more. He mapped out a very good plan to help me move on to my NQT year, gaining fantastic experience in the meantime which is impressive in itself, without the added pressure of doing all this in the midst of a global pandemic. I have been super impressed by the dedication shown and really feel like my interests are put at the heart of every placement. Jake would ensure that placements were suitable in terms of experience, external environment and distance. I only have access to a bike and was given roles within a certain radius further showing the dedication to ensure that the placement is just right for the individual. I believe that my situation has really been looked at before I am assigned a position and I am very thankful that I found Team Educate when I did, because they have given me an element of security during a time where things did not appear stable. I couldn't recommend new NQTs to sign themselves up as I believe your true interests will really be considered and you will eventually find your niche as Jake really does listen to what it is that you want before a contract is assigned. I now feel in an even better position to start my teaching career and believe that the experience has helped me realise that I want to be a key Stage 1 teacher.
