Team Educate is proud to represent a unique and innovative school in the Solihull area who seek to recruit a dedicated BTEC Animal Care Instructor to support, engage and inspire students with Special Educational Needs, namely anxiety and ASC.
This role is offered on either a temporary or permanent basis, providing you with the opportunity to trial the school before committing to a permanent placement, should this be desired. The school are dedicated to supporting both their staff and pupils and hold their wellbeing and academic development in the highest regard. As such, they have high expectations for teaching and learning, and are looking for someone equally committed to enhancing outcomes for young people to join their team.
This role would suit those looking for both part-time or full-time hours – in order for the contract to be full-time, you must be willing to support the school in different ways throughout the week, depending on your skillset. In order to qualify for this role, you should have experience of teaching BTEC Animal Care courses in a school or college environment, as well as a recognised teaching qualification.
The ideal BTEC Animal Care Instructor will have:
– Experience of teaching BTEC Animal Care to pupils at secondary age. It would be beneficial to have experience of working with KS3, as well as experience of teaching other subjects.
– A positive ‘can-do’ attitude to match the ethos of the school.
– Experience of working with SEND students, namely those with Autism and associated needs, such as Anxiety and social interaction.
– A recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE with QTS or a Level 5 Award in Education and Training with QTLS, is desirable.
– An Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or a willingness to process a new one.
