Education Staff required throughout Devon 

Having worked very closely with Devon Virtual School and Devon County Council over the last 5 years, Team Educate are now looking for Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors to support in schools in the Devon Area from September 2024.

At Team Educate, we can offer a range of flexible work in schools for staff with all levels of experience as set out below:

Qualified Primary and Secondary School Teachers

Supply teaching works well for so many of our teachers in other areas. Typically, we see Qualified Teachers at different points in their career carrying out this role. Some have left teaching to pursue other interests but want the security of flexible guaranteed work. Others are new in to the profession and are looking to try out different schools before committing to one in the long term. We also work with a number of tutors and music teachers who receive regular work to suit their new career schedule! Our teachers regularly comment on how they enjoy being in the classroom without all the additional burdens of a full time role. These roles can often become long term if the candidate desires and enjoys the particular school they are in.

Working as a Primary or Secondary Supply Teacher is an excellent way to engage with young people and familiarise yourself with different schools in the local area. A teaching qualification (QTS) is essential to be considered but for those without one we have roles as a cover supervisor available as set out below.

Rates of pay for this role range between £120 and £160 per day.

Cover Supervisors

Cover Supervisors carry out classroom cover for absent staff in mainstream schools. If you are looking to gain experience working in a school and have a passion for working with children, this is a perfect role for you.

Working as a cover supervisor is an excellent way to engage with young people and familiarise yourself with schools in the local area. A teaching qualification and/or experience is desirable but not essential. A big heart and plenty of patience is far more important.

This role is available five days per week if desired however it is also perfect for Students or those looking for flexible work around other roles  / interests.

Rates of pay for this role range between £110 and £120 per day.

Teaching Assistants (TA’s)

If you are new to the education sector then the role of a TA in either a Nursery, Primary or Secondary School would be a fantastic place to start your journey. Are you a budding Teaching Assistant who is looking to make a difference every day? Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you someone who thrives in new situations? If so, Team Educate want to hear from you!

Team Educate are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work within nursery, primary and secondary schools to either support students on a 1:1 basis with their academic and pastoral needs or to support the class teacher with the effective running of the lesson.

Rates of pay for this role range between £90 and £100 per day.

For all of the above roles we are looking for people who: 

  • Can build a good rapport with pupils in a short space of time.
  • Can remain calm, confident, and engaging in unfamiliar surroundings
  • Have an interest in a multitude of subjects.
  • Are eligible to work in the UK. Have an enhanced DBS certificate that is registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Provide recent references that can be contacted
