Team Educate is proud to represent an inclusive school in the Meriden area who are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Instructor to join their team.
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will have the opportunity to educate and inspire students with Special Educational Needs, helping them develop their skills and reach their full potential. If you have a background in Food Technology Instruction, Catering and/or Special Education, then we’d love to hear from you!
This position is offered on a part-time basis, but the school are pleased to offer full-time opportunities to teachers who are able to offer teaching/support in multiple subject areas. There is also the opportunity for this to become a permanent position with the school for the right candidate.
Your responsibilities as a Food Technology Teacher
– Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum
– Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with social anxiety and Autism
– Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback (formative and summative)
– Use various teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop educational materials and strategies
What you will need to be successful in this role:
– Experience of teaching, coaching or mentoring students, ideally in a Food Technology/Catering role
– An in-depth understanding of Health and Safety and utilising Risk Assessments to minimise risk within the classroom setting
– Knowledge of practices within Special Education and strategies to engage and support pupils with Autism
– The ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
– A relevant Teaching qualification such as QTS/QTLS, CertEd or DTTLS (preferred)
– An Enhanced DBS which is registered with the Update Service, or a willingness to process a new one.
