Tutor required in Bude to work with a Year 7 student (15 hours per week)

Team Educate are looking for a tutor to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 6 pupil who lives in Bude, Corwall. This would be 3 hours per day (15 hours per week), at the students placement address. The student is in Year 6 but is working to a lower levels and requires Maths and English tuition. This is to be booked on an on-going basis and will be required for a number of months (possible the rest of the year). The young learner has been out of school for a number of months and we are looking for a tutor to work with him, providing him with quality education. This will need to be in person and the times / hours can be negotiable but would need to be during the school day,

We do also have more placements available with some of these being virtually as well as in person. Some of the lessons can be done via Skype, TEAMs or Zoom but you may also be asked to delver lessons in schools, alternative provisions, care homes, public area such as libraries or at their homes.

We are looking for qualified teachers throughout Devon, Cornwall, North Somerset, Somerset and Bristol. Lessons will normally be 1-2 hours long and we may be able to offer a full day of lessons working with 2-3 different pupils or part time hours to fit around other commitments. The sessions can be during school hours, in the evenings and on weekends (depending on tutor availability)

About the role:

  • Monday – Friday 3 hours per day
  • 15 hours per week
  • In person tuition at YP care address
  • Pay rate £25 – £30 per hour
  • You will be delivering core subject lessons to bridge the gap in their learning and support the pupils emotional needs
  • Most of the pupils will have SEND needs so we require tutors with experience of working with young people with a range of different needs and abilities

To be eligible for this position, you are required to have the following:

  • School / Tutor experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Teaching Degree
  • Good subject knowledge in Maths, English and Science
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references that can be contacted
