Salary: £85 – £105 depending on experience

We are looking for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join us to help support schools in and around Bristol.

About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support for students with a variety of SEND needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and physical disabilities. Your role will be key in ensuring these students can access learning and fully participate in school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND.
  • Assist in the delivery of personalised learning plans, ensuring each child’s needs are met.
  • Encourage independence and confidence in students, helping them to achieve their learning goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to monitor progress and adapt support strategies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment where all students feel valued.

Key Skills and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Empathy – the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.
  2. Patience – the resilience to support students through challenges.
  3. Adaptability – flexible in your approach to meet diverse learning needs.
  4. Strong Communication – able to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
  5. Initiative – proactive in problem-solving and offering support.

Preferable Experience:

  • Previous experience in a SEND environment or working with children with SEND.
  • Familiarity with individual learning plans (ILPs) and strategies for supporting children with Autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs.
  • Experience in using assistive technology or resources to aid learning.
