We are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants, with experience of providing personal care, to support primary pupils in a mainstream school setting. The ideal candidate will assist in providing educational and wellbeing support to pupils, as well as providing personal care and support with younger pupils.
This role will suit Teaching Assistants with significant experience working with SEND in Early Years and primary settings, as well as those who come from a background in health and care with young people.
Duties of Teaching Assistants:
- Assist in implementing care plans that incorporate educational activities
- Support pupils with learning tasks and provide guidance as needed
- Help create a positive and engaging learning environment
- Utilise resources to enhance educational experiences
- Assist pupils with aspects of navigating daily school life, including providing personal care when needed, including toileting and cleanliness.
Experience required of Teaching Assistants:
- Previous experience in a similar role, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEND)
- Experience in a care home or home care environment is suitable, as well as in school-based positions
- Ability to support pupils in their social, emotional and academic development by utilising strategies for engagement
- Excellent communication skills to interact with pupils, staff and parents, where necessary
- The ability to get stuck-in with various tasks to support pupils’ development in and outside of lessons.
