Welsh-speaking Cover Supervisor – Free Training available
Team Educate are recruiting for passionate Cover Supervisors who speak fluent Welsh or attended a Welsh-medium primary/ secondary school. We work with a number of Welsh-medium secondary schools in the Cardiff, Newport and Caerphilly areas who are looking for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to deliver lessons and support children through the medium of Welsh.
The schools we work with are eager to welcome proactive and friendly Cover Supervisors to the team to cover staff absence on both a short and long-term basis, depending on what you’re looking for. Experience in a similar role will be highly beneficial, or experience in coaching or mentoring young people of secondary school age.
Welsh-speaking Cover Supervisors should have:
- Experience working with children
- Exceptional communication skills
- The ability to establish rapport and build strong working relationships with pupils
The Welsh-speaking Cover Supervisor role includes:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons to classes in various subjects
- Ensuring the classroom environment is maintained and behaviour is managed effectively
- Monitoring pupils and reporting on progress for the class teacher
- Offering support to pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
- Using your own initiative and taking a pro-active approach
- Promoting the Welsh language through effective lessons delivery
Requirements for a Welsh-speaking Cover Supervisor:
- Enhanced DBS Check – we can help process one for you
- Registration with the EWC – we can help get you registered
- 2 years’ worth of professional references
- Over 18 years old
- Fluency in the Welsh language
